![]() It could very well happen to Gagharv as well. ![]() Gurumin sold 26K on the PSP in the USA and went to carve out a decent niche on Steam. Some PSP games (like Trails in the Sky which sold 18K) failed sales-wise because they came out at the tail end of the console's life. The main impediment, I think, is gonna be the lack of a PC port. Originally posted by Arsene Lupin:Keep in mind very few games sold well on the PSP, and also that plenty of other niche games have evidently found a sufficient audience on Steam - EG Zwei, Zwei II, Gurumin, Xanadu Next.Īnd if something like Nayuta is expected to sell (relatively) well due to it's (very) tenuous connection to Trails, then the Gagharv games would be in a similar, arguably stronger situation. ![]() Not to mention if someone else picks it up instead. I'd think they'd probably sell a bit better now, due to the rise in popularity of Ys and Trails, but probably not high enough for NiSA to warrant it sadly.Ĭan still hope though. This was before Falcom has risen to prominence outside of Japan mind you. That doesn't inspire confidence that a revival would make back the development costs. I would love to see it personally, but I doubt it will happen because the originals on PSP sold poorly in the USA (Tear of Vermillion: 71K, Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch: 30K, Song of the Ocean: 26K lifetime sales). And, QOL features would be necessary like turbo mode for the slow battles. Originally posted by Akira:NISA would need to release updated localizations for the entire Gagharv trilogy (especially for Tear of Vermillion), as Bandai Namco rushed them out back in the day so playing them almost feels like you're playing a machine translation at times.
